Brilliant little van. Fits my ladders and water tank easily. Really economical - 48 MPG average. Easy to drive and park. Had zero problems in two years. Just what I needed.

What I liked

Excellent fuel economy, very reliable, easy to park, good size, cheap to run

Could be improved

Bit noisy on motorways, basic spec, limited power

About the Vauxhall Combo

History

The Vauxhall Combo has been a key player in the compact van segment since its introduction in 1986. Originally based on the Vauxhall Corsa platform, the Combo has evolved through multiple generations to become a versatile and practical compact van that offers an excellent balance of load space and maneuverability. Now part of the Stellantis group, the latest generation Combo shares its platform with several other compact vans in the group, while maintaining Vauxhall's focus on practicality and value.

Generations

First Generation

1986-1993

The original Combo was essentially a van version of the Vauxhall Nova/Opel Corsa, offering basic commercial vehicle functionality in a compact package.

Second Generation

1993-2001

Based on the Corsa B platform, this generation featured a more purpose-built design with improved load space and practicality.

Third Generation

2001-2011

This generation featured a more distinct van-like design with significantly improved load space and versatility.

Fourth Generation

2011-2018

Developed in partnership with Fiat, this generation offered improved quality, efficiency, and load space.

Fifth Generation

2018-Present

The current Combo is based on the PSA Group's (now Stellantis) platform, offering improved technology, efficiency, and load space. It's also available as the fully electric e-Combo.
