I'm a painter and decorator and this Transit Connect has been brilliant for getting around town. It's small enough to park easily on residential streets but still fits all my ladders, paint, and equipment. The side door is really handy for quick access to gear. I've done 42,000 miles and it's been totally reliable - not a single breakdown. Fuel economy is good too, usually getting around 40-42 MPG. The 1.5 diesel has enough power for what I need. It drives nicely and doesn't feel like a van. Only downside is the load height is a bit low so I have to duck when loading longer items, but that's the trade-off for the compact size.

What I liked

Very reliable, great fuel economy, easy to park in tight spots, good side door access, comfortable to drive, perfect size for city work

Could be improved

Load height is quite low, not much space for really tall items, basic interior, road noise is noticeable
