Used Nissan Primastar Vans for Sale

Had an 09 plate 2.0 dCi for years doing plumbing work. When it was going it was fine - comfortable cab, rides well, and i was getting about 35 mpg even loaded up. But the faults on these are legendary and i managed to collect most of them. Gearbox bearings went at 60k, thats a grand gone. Then the injectors seized solid in the head. Turns out water gets in past the seal under the windscreen and pools round them, they corrode in place and simply cant be got out. Quoted the best part of £5k for an engine and thats when i gave up on it. Apparently the whole thing was on Watchdog years back. If your looking at one of these do yourself a favour, clean out the scuttle drains and get some silicone round that panel before it happens to you. Also had the slave cylinder and a clutch along the way. Same van as the Vivaro and Trafic underneath so at least the parts are cheap and everywhere.

Swapped out of a Trafic into a 23 plate L2H2 130 and its basically the same van wearing a different badge, both built in the same French factory. Difference is i paid noticeably less for it and got 5 years 100k warranty instead of 3, plus a bit more kit at the same trim level. Thats the whole argument for one really. The load through flap under the bulkhead gives you 4.15m which is brilliant for carrying lengths of conduit and pipe, best in class apparently and i can beleive it. Getting 37 to 38 mpg on mixed driving. Cab is a nice place to be, decent quality throughout. My one real complaint is legroom - im 6ft 2 and after four or five hours my knees are aching, theres just not quite enough travel in the seat. Too new for me to say much about reliability, nothing has gone wrong in 29k, thats all i can honestly tell you.
