Comfortable van, but too many electrical niggles
I’ve been running a 2021 Mercedes Sprinter for deliveries and while the space in the back is excellent, I’m not fully impressed. The van feels comfortable on long drives and the driving position is great, but I’ve already had electrical issues with the sensors and the AdBlue system is temperamental. Fuel economy is around 27–29mpg, which isn’t great considering it’s mostly motorway miles. For the price, I expected better reliability — it does the job, but maintenance costs are higher than I’d like.

The driving comfort is excellent, loads of cargo space, and it feels solid on the motorway.
Could be improved
Electrical faults started earlier than expected, and the AdBlue system has been unreliable. Running costs are on the high side.”

Top quality but pricey
Best van I've owned. Really well built and comfortable. Plenty of room for my locksmith gear. Reliable as anything. Fuel economy is about 31 MPG. Servicing costs more but worth it for the quality.

Quality van but you pay for it
I've driven a lot of large vans and the Sprinter really does feel a cut above most rivals. The cabin is more like a car than a van, with decent materials and everything laid out sensibly. The 2.0 diesel is smooth and has plenty of grunt, though it's not the most economical. Ride quality is genuinely impressive - it handles bumps well even when empty. The MBUX system and safety kit are actually useful rather than just gimmicks. That said, you're paying a premium for all this. Purchase price is high, and servicing isn't cheap either. Longer service intervals help a bit with costs. If you want the best quality and comfort and can afford it, the Sprinter is hard to beat.
